After finishing all our filming we edited the footage to produce a rough cut of the final product using final cut editing software.
We then uploaded the rough cut to youtube.
Our rough cut includes most of the footage but hasn't got the shot of 'Karen' sniffing 'Matt's' hoodie.
Our next step is to begin our proper editing, produce a soundtrack and put the titles in the sequence.

Re-shoot/ Additional shot
After discussions with Brian, we decided the jump of Zoe's character Karen was too hectic and needed to be implied more.
We decided to put a clip in of 'Karen' sniffing a hoodie that belonged to Matt. Taking inspiration from the opening sequence of Natural Born Killers, Stone uses a prefigurative image of Micky the killer's blood drenched face to flag up potential narrative development.
We decided to place it further back in the film perhaps between the dialogue between Rosie and Karen where Karen tells Rosie she's not good enough for Matt (Which she later backtracks upon saying she meant that Rosie deserves better)
By using this shot it implies more about Karen's character and allows for a smoother build up to the the discovery that would take place if the film were to continue instead of the sudden change from 'geeky' friend to boyfriend kidnapping psycho.

Scream By The Book
We decided to call our film Scream By The Book.
We decided on that name because the premise of our film is that everything happens When Rosie (played by Elly) returns to her locker to pick up a forgotten book.
After our opening sequence the film would continue on to see how Rosie would figure out what has happened to her missing boyfriend Matt (Matt) with the help and hindrance of concerned friend Karen (Zoe)

Filming.
Our filming didn't require many props and it was done on college grounds. We tried to use a range of shots and angles including:
Close ups;
Shot reverse shots;
Long shots;
Match on action;
Following 180 degree rule;
Mid shots;
High angle and low angle shots.
Props
Various books;
Bags;
Two mobile phones;
And a boy's hoodie
One of the issues we had post filming was jump cuts. This was because we hadn't moved the camera more than 30 degrees whilst changing shots.
Fortunately we didn't need to re-shoot and we were able to get rid of the jump cuts in the editing stage.
Another problem we had was changing weather on the different days we were filming. Most of it was filmed on an overcast day but when we needed to re-shoot a small part it was very sunny out on the grounds. We decided to film under a tree which gave us enough shade to keep the continuity of our film.
Overall our filming took about 2 days (mostly done within lesson time) to do using an extra lesson to do minor re-shoots.

feedback
Blog has not really changed since last week but much has been done
Add some detail now
In the opening sequence of Natural Born Killers, Stone uses a prefigurative image of Micky the killer's blood drenched face to flag up potential narrative development - the shot is from a sequence much later in the film but hints at the murderous conclusion to the diner scene

Critique
Some good storyboard work here - I like the illustrations of shots you could use in your opening -make sure you do
Generally your blog lacks detail - where is the analysis of what you are trying to do/ for what target audience?
You have some serious catching up to do

Clerks opening narrative
Narrative
In media terms, narrative is the coherence/organisation given to a series of facts. The human mind needs narrative to make sense of things. We connect events and make interpretations based on those connections. In everything we seek a beginning, a middle and an end. We understand and construct meaning using our experience of reality and of previous texts. Each text becomes part of the previous and the next through its relationship with the audience.
The difference between Story & Narrative:
"Story is the irreducible substance of a story (A meets B, something happens, order returns), while narrative is the way the story is related (Once upon a time there was a princess...)" (Key Concepts in Communication - Fiske et al (1983))
Clerks; phone ringing causes the disturbance in the first few shots
Todoror- Equilibrium- Dante's day off
Disturbance- Phone rings
New Equilibrium- End of film
Dante -> Phone -> Goes to work
There can be expectations of the new equilibrium from looking at the genre.

Video Clip
We anaylsed this video clip, looking at the camera angles and the pace of filming and length of shots.
Research- Production Meeting
We watched a short documentary on film production. We decided our film company would be called LIMP Industries.
Our roles in this company are,
Director: Zoe
Producer: Elly
Camera Operator: Becky
Editor: Jolie
Before this lesson we analysed "Wild At Heart", "Fast Times At Richmond High", "This is England", "Natural Born Killers" and "Clerks".
We also practised animatics, made a storyboard out of photos we had taken and then Blutoothed to the Mac's and learnt how to use LiveType.
